A heroic story of friendship and belonging.

Ponyboy can count on his brothers.

And on his friends. But not on

much else besides trouble with the

Socs, a vicious gang of rich kids

whose idea of a good time is

beating up ‘greasers’ like Ponyboy.

At least he knows what to expect-

until the night someone takes

things too far.

This was an excellent book following a group of greasers. Ponyboy was easy to get along with as a narrator. He was young, yet he understood what was going on. He wasn’t completely bitter about his situation yet, as some of the older characters are. He made you worry about him. With everything that happens in this book, the things he goes through shouldn’t be happening to anyone, much less a 14 year old boy.

This was a very well written book. It was easy to read and enjoyable all the way through. I would definitely suggest this to anyone who enjoys classics or young adult literature. I would also suggest this to just about anyone. It truly is a tale everyone can relate to in some way.
